APPROPIATE BEHAVIOR

We maintain a standard of conduct more demanding than that required by society at large because trust within our teams, and between our Regiment and our people, depends on it. This applies on and off operations, in and out of uniform.

LAWFUL

Every marine operates within the laws of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Where international operations require it, we uphold international law, the laws of armed conflict, and all applicable rules of engagement. Legitimacy is not optional; it is the baseline.

TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL

Professionalism is not an occasional commitment. It is the constant standard. It sustains our operational effectiveness, protects the reputation of the Regiment, and honours the trust that the people of these islands place in us every single day.

Our Mission

The mission of the Turks and Caicos Islands Regiment is to build and maintain a highly effective military force with the strategic capacity to defend these islands against internal and external threats and to serve our people in their greatest moments of need.

Our marines are trained and deployed to deliver:

Humanitarian aid and disaster relief
Maritime border protection across all islands of the archipelago
Internal security in support of civilian authorities
Tactical communications and information systems

Community development and environmental stewardship

In every operation, we act in full coordination with the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands, protecting the freedoms our people deserve.

The Regiment demands both physical and moral courage. Physical courage means being willing to go into harm's way on behalf of our nation to endure hardship, face danger, and hold the line. Moral courage means doing what is right even when it is difficult, holding ourselves and those around us to the highest standards of behaviour. Together, these forms of courage earn the trust and respect of the people we serve.

discipline

Discipline is what holds a unit together when conditions are at their worst. It instils self-confidence and self-control. It is the reason our marines do the right thing under the most difficult of circumstances not because they are told to, but because they know it matters.

respect of others

Treating every person with dignity and respect is not simply a legal obligation it is a reflection of the freedom and equality our service is meant to protect. Diversity makes us stronger. Inclusion makes us better. We treat everyone we encounter as we would wish to be treated ourselves.

loyalty

Loyalty binds the Regiment together. It creates the cohesion that allows a team to achieve what no individual ever could alone. We are loyal to our nation, to our mission, and to each other but loyalty is never blind. It always operates within the boundaries of our values and our law.
